During our seasonal retreats we hold workshops everyday to discuss different aspects of the season and how to incorporate it into your life. In one of our workshops at our most recent Autumn Equinox Retreat, we discussed the harvesting element of fall including the act of preservation and medicine making including elderberry syrup. So, even though we cant invite everyone to these educational event, we thought we would at least share one useful component.

The winter solstice has been observed by all cultures in history. In modern western cultures, we mostly celebrate Christmas now, but this holiday has deep roots in our ancestral past. Over the course of this weeklong retreat we will discuss that history along with many other seasonally relevant topics. When we start to piece all of this archetypal information together we have an energy that conveys a need to let go of something that may have attributed to our success, but that is no longer in our best interest and in fact, may actually be inhibiting our growth…But for now, we’re going to focus on the large overarching themes because it’s creating a great cosmological alignment for cord cutting.

Being in tune with the natural cycles of the earth helps us to be in alignment with the universe as a whole. It also helps by welcoming the nurturing energy of Pachamama into the flow of our lives. That can be as simple as sitting outside and giving thanks, bringing fresh flowers into your home, or for this example making some Strawberry Honey Lemonade.
